Rob Rob Okimura, Senior Pastor
Rob is the founding pastor of Hope Chapel Lifespring that started in 1997. He grew up in Manoa Valley and is a graduate of Roosevelt High School, the University of Hawaii at Manoa and Fuller Seminary. Rob previously served as an assistant pastor at Evergreen Baptist Church in Rosemead, California, Grace Bible Church Honolulu, and Hope Chapel Honolulu. He and his wife Michele were married in 1984 and have two children.

Michele Michele Okimura, Associate Pastor
Michele founded the church with her husband Rob. She grew up in Kaimuki and is a graduate of Kalani High School and the University of Hawaii at Manoa where she earned a degree in education. Michele previously worked as a school teacher for fifteen years before she joined the church staff full-time. She wears many different leadership hats, but her primary role is overseeing the Children’s Ministry.

Dan Dan Tetsutani, Youth Pastor
Dan and his wife Debbie were members of the team that helped start Lifespring in 1997. Dan’s passion for God combirned with his down-to-earth ability to relate to young people is so refreshing. He owns a cabling business and has three children.

Terry

Terry Arista, Outreach Pastor

Terry has been at Lifespring since 2001. His heart to reach people with the love of Christ is genuine and inspiring. He leads worship in church & is also a drummer on the worship team. Terry is employed as a teacher at Christian Academy & has a son.

Hitomi Nakaoka, Dance/hula ministry

Hitomi has been at Lifespring from its start. She has a passion for people and the Holy Spirit moves in her through her hula and sign dancing ministry. She loves her job as a Registered Nurse that works with newborns and post partum moms at Kapiolani Hospital, speaks Japanese fluently and has one son.


Lynnie

Lynnette Shimabukuro, Worship Team Vocals


“Lynnie” is the blog administrator & has been with Lifespring from its start. She was born & raised in Singapore & has lived in Hawaii since 1991. She & her husband Grant have 3 children. She’s always had a heart for the worship ministry & is involved in the nursery. For work, she works at a publishing firm part-time, teaches Mandarin part-time & owns her own jewelry business.

Caryn Cameron, Team Support

Caryn has been at Lifespring since 2008. A former flight attendant with Aloha Airlines for almost 25 years, Caryn enjoys working with people from all walks of life. A team player and along with her heart for others, she lends her motivational and organizational skills to help the team. Caryn loves to cook, learn about different cultures & has a degree in Art from the University of Hawaii. She has 2 children.

Jessica, Worship Team Keyboard Player & Aaron, Worship Team Drummer

This is their first time serving on Missions alongside with their parents, Rob & Michele.  Aaron & Jessica both graduate from high school this year, serve as regulars on the worship team & enjoy hanging out with the youth in church.

Matthew, Worship Team; Media & Tech. Support

Matthew, Worship Team, Media/Tech. Support

First born of the Hilderbrands, Matthew’s in Hawaii for the Summer.  Fluent in Thai, he helped the team with language & cultural aspects of the trip & ended up jumping on board a week before departure (a surprise to his mom who will be hosting the youth at their home in Bangkok).  He is going into his junior year in college & enjoys serving on the worship team, as well as drama, media & tech. related projects we assign to him.

Dustin, Youth

Dustin was the only baby when the church first started! The oldest of 3 children, Dustin enjoys sports, fishing and going to the beach.  He will be serving alongside his dad, Dan on this first Missions experience.
